This is the first post of what we hope will become a regular blog on this web site. The focus will always be on companion animals and the pet parents who accompany them on their journey.
The pet hospice movement is a very new concept, and as such, is evolving in many different ways with many different approaches and philosophies regarding the goal of hospice and the way the service will be delivered.
There are those who believe that the goal must always be a “natural death” without the intervention of traditional medicine. There is reason to believe that this goal is almost the “holy grail” to some providers, and in their eagerness to promote this agenda, the traditional signs of pain and the realization that their approach is not working are not recognized.
At Beyond the Rainbow, we are centered only on the pet and the pet parent. Our goal is to provide an end-of-life care plan that is developed between the client and the medical professional providing care. We are a companion to you on this journey, walking WITH you every step of the way. We explain the options available and help facilitate the plan developed. We pledge that we will never impose our values on any client we have the honor of working with.
Our goal is, and will always be, a pain free end-of-life experience, designed to provide a dignified way for you to say goodbye to your furry friends while ensuring your pet is comfortable and able to enjoy the extra time that the plan YOU CHOOSE will provide.
